SuperMoney Scholarship

SuperMoney is excited to announce that we are offering a scholarship to eligible students at HLV Community School District. We would love to make an application for this scholarship accessible to your students.

Eligibility Requirements
In order to participate in the scholarship contest, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Be enrolled full-time in high school as a senior or at least part-time in college, graduate, professional, trade school, or coding bootcamp
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Be a permanent resident or a U.S. citizen
  • Upload an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification document
  • Must provide your written essay by the deadline of December 31st, 2019.


A winner will be chosen on February 15, 2020

    Below are deadline notifications for three of our partners:

    APIA Scholarship

    The APIA Scholarship is open to Asian and Pacific Islander American students who'll be enrolling or are currently enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university as a degree-seeking undergraduate student in the fall of 2020. This year's application opened on September 4, 2019, and closes on January 22, 2020. Learn more about the application process and minimum eligibility criteria.

    Cooke College Scholarship Program

    Scholarships can open doors for students who aspire to go to college but don't have the funds. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation provides one of the largest scholarships in the country for high-achieving students with financial need.

    The Cooke College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. In addition to the monetary award, Cooke scholars receive comprehensive educational advising, significant cohort-based programming, and graduate school funding, as well as access to a thriving network of more than 2,600 fellow Cooke scholars and alumni.

    The Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program application (exclusively through the Common App) closes November 13, 2019.

    Ron Brown Scholarship

    African American high school seniors are encouraged to apply for the Ron Brown Scholarship by either the early deadline of November 1, 2019, or the regular deadline of January 9, 2020. Named for the late secretary of commerce and inspired by his dedication to public service, the Ron Brown Scholar Program offers a $40,000 scholarship to up to 30 African American high school seniors each year based on academic excellence and commitment to public service. Recipients are young African Americans of outstanding promise who are offered intensive mentorship, service opportunities, leadership experiences, and extensive professional development throughout all stages of their careers.

    Applications must be mailed to the Ron Brown Scholar Program office with a postmark dated no later than January 9, 2020. For more information about the Ron Brown Scholarship, please visit their website.

    Guided Pathway Support Program

    The Ron Brown Scholar Program is also accepting applications from African American juniors and seniors for its Guided Pathway Support Program (GPS).

    Launched in 2016, GPS is a free online college access and advising program that helps African American high school juniors and seniors navigate the college application process using Ron Brown scholars as guides. Each year, GPS offers 10–12 scholarships to participating high school seniors based on contributions to the GPS online college access community, academic achievement, and demonstrated leadership.

If it makes sense to hit the open road and be our virtual tour guide, that's great! This is a chance for you to showcase any place you love in as an original way as possible.

    How do I choose a location?

    Opploans Scholarship

    To apply for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, submit a short essay responding to the prompted question. Scholarship decisions are based solely on an applicant's essay response.

    Winners for the OppU Achievers Scholarship are selected four times a year, with submission deadlines on September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30.

    To be eligible for the OppU Achievers Scholarship, a student must:

    • Be enrolled full time in high school or at least part time in college, graduate, professional, or trade school.
    • Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0.

Write and attach a minimum 250-word essay describing how this scholarship will assist in attaining a career in their field.     The Better Business Bureau's Torch Awards for Ethics is offering the Student of Integrity Scholarship of $2,500 awarded to 8 high school seniors. The school is only able to have one applicant. This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates sound character and ethical decision making. If you are interested in applying on behalf of HLV, please write a 1,000 word essay explaining one situation you have personally faced that required you to demonstrate an understanding of ethical decision making. What challenges did you face and what life lessons did you learn from your experience? Don't just think about right and wrong in terms of legality. Think outside the box! Include your own personal definition of integrity.

    Please submit your essay to Mrs. Robison by December 15th at 3:30to be considered to represent HLV. The best essay will be allowed to apply to for the scholarship.

    Indian Hills Community College Foundation Scholarships

    I would like to let you know that our Foundation Scholarship application was opened earlier this year, October 15. The priority deadline has also been pushed up to January 31, 2017. This will allow us to let your students know about their award earlier than previous years. Students meeting the priority deadline will be notified of their award around the first of April. Students can still submit their application after the priority deadline, and those applications will be reviewed, but this does not mean funds will be available.

    Please encourage your students to submit the Foundation Scholarship application by January 31, 2017.
